Guys, I don’t know if this will help y’all or not, but I came across some game film rolls from the 70′s through 1980 (I think). I don’t really have time to sort through them to see when the games are from cause of school, but i do have the player and reels at my house near campus. If this can’t help you guys, I would love to donate it to the basketball program or RCAF. Get back to me when you can. Thanks!
I really didn’t know the whole story of what happened, but I have heard parts of it through the years. This video shows how much of a “marked man” Shipley was. He was probably the most hated man in the south since President Kennedy in Dallas November ’63
I just want to say I contributed what i could to this film within 30 days of ya’ll getting this website up back in winter of 2011. If i can give more I will.
I just want to say from watching the new old trailer and the new one I can tell that this film will be awesome. It needs to be promoted nationally ESPN, FOX whatever. I even forwarded the trailer to Dick Vital. I am a common and UL alum but at least I am trying.
I have cried both times watching the trailers out of pride and out of sadness for Coach Shipley and the monicker he had to live with as well as how much that one incident set our entire athletic program back 30 plus years. It did that for many reason if not for the one fact that it hand cuffed Dr. Authemant with so much fear he kept a tight noose on athletics and never let it start a Foundation etc.
Thanks for all you have done. This film is gonna be phenomenal and should not be hidden locally. Let me know if i can be of any assistance.
